The Gift of Life

Today marks seven years since our daughter was given the gift of life.  Her kidneys were not functioning and she was very sick.  Then a friend gave her one of his.  A kidney is an amazing gift to give a person.  As a result of that gift, she has been able to lead a normal life, raising her daughter, and is doing fine.

At some time or other, almost everyone has received a gift.  Sometimes gifts are homemade, others are purchased.   There are gifts that may not cost much, but because the person who gave it, gave at a great sacrifice, the gift becomes precious to the receiver.  There are gifts that are treasures because they have been handed down from a person who has special meaning to us.

How do you put value on the gift of a kidney.  Giving the opportunity of a meaningful life to a person, the chance to raise their family, is beyond value.  There is no way I would want to ever take such a thing for granted.  Giving a kidney is giving part of yourself.  Yet, there is another gift that is even greater.  Jesus gave His life to pay for the forgiveness of our sins.  What greater display of love could ever take place.  There is nothing we could ever do to deserve it.  He willingly gave His life for us.  Salvation is a gift.  All we have to do is recognize our need forgiveness, and ask Him to forgive us.  His blood will wash away all of our sin.  He did it because He loves us and wants us to live with Him forever.  Today is the day for you to come to Him.  Please, contact me if you have any questions, or want to talk further.  You can contact me at:  lighthouse.hope@att.net
