To Watch or not to Watch

People watching is a favorite thing for a lot of people. Airports, malls, and other places with lots of people are good places to watch people. It is interesting to see some of the actions and interactions of people as they don’t know they are being watched. Following people on facebook is another method used to people watch. When you watch others, you tend to see what you want to see or what they want you to see. People can appear to have it all together and be so happy. It can make one feel like something is wrong with them, that they are the only ones whose world is upside down and are struggling.

Comparing oneself with others is not a good thing. If we could really look into the lives of people, what appears to be picture perfect lives, might be just an illusion and one never knows what they are behind the smiles. If we could see deeper, we would would see that things are not always perfect in their lives.

Rather than comparing ourselves to others, we would be better off looking at our strengths and blessings. We need to be careful that we are not looking at just the negative things, which is an easy thing to do. When we are honest, there are a lot of things we have to be grateful for. As we do that, even the difficult things are easier to bear. So, my suggestion to you is, find all the things you have to be thankful for. It will do you a lot of good in numerous ways.
