Going through a Loss

We are in the middle of the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays. While that is a very joyous time, it can also be difficult for people. My family has had a difficult time in that my Mom passed away a couple of days ago. One day I was told she only had days to live, the very next day I picked my loved one up from the facility. Mom lives 17 hours away so going to visit and now for the funeral is impossible. I know it is important for me to walk through all that my loved one must go through right now, but it is also hard to not be with the rest of the family during this time.

Right after my husband was incarcerated, a brother of mine was killed in an accident. Informing my husband and going through it without him was difficult. I know many of you have been through similar things. Some of you have had to deal with medical issues and other serious situations. It makes things so complicated.

Losing a loved one is never easy. When you have someone incarcerated, or on parole, it is even more difficult. I cherish the fact that I was able to talk to her on the phone and skype with her in the days leading up to her going home to heaven.

If you are struggling with any of life’s situations, know that you don’t have to walk through it alone. Pain is pain, no matter what the cause. Sometimes talking helps. Let me know if I can help you… And always remember that Jesus loves you and wants to help you with all of your situations.
