Schools will be starting soon. Some have already started. It doesn’t seem possible that summer is coming to an end. I don’t know what plans you started the summer with hoping to accomplish. I don’t know if you fulfilled any or all of those goals. Goals are good to have. They can be complex or simplistic, long or short term. Goals can be easy to accomplish or completely out of reach, or anything in between.
Some people live their life by following goals, from daily ones, to weekly, monthly, yearly, and on. Others live their lives with a whatever happens happens attitude. The former can end up putting a lot of unrealistic expectations on themselves that can add a lot of stress. The later can find themselves in some difficult situations at times for not planning ahead.
I have talked with a lot of people who plan out their education, careers, families, even retirement. The one thing that a lot of people forget to plan for is their eternity. When I have talked to people as they are near the end of their life on earth, they never wish they had spent more time working. It seems to me that to spend so much time planning the details of ones life and not spend any time preparing for what happens in eternal life makes this life a waste. What happens to us after we die is the most important decision we will ever make. Refusing to make it is in itself a decision.
The Bible says there is only one way to heaven, and that is through the blood of Jesus. He died so that we can live, live eternally with Him. I pray you make that decision soon if you have not already made it.
