I don’t always do well with changes. Maybe it is the fear of the unknown. When something seems to be working, why possibly mess it up. However, change can be a good thing. And change is inevitable in all of our lives. A change is coming soon for me. Our daughter is moving. She has lived near us nearly all her life, but now is moving a few states away. She is taking our granddaughter with her. Any grandparent can attest to how hard that change is.
While I will miss her extremely, I want her to be happy and know that she needs the change. More than anything, I desire for our children to be where God wants them to be, so as much as I would like them near, I want them where He wants them even more. It will be a big adjustment in that when our incarceration journey began, many of who I thought were friends disappeared. The same thing happened to her. Then she bought a house which was in desperate need of some “changes”. It was a HUD house and took a lot of work. We did a lot of it ourselves. We worked together and learned as we went. It was a growing experience for both of us.
We learned other things along this journey. One of those things was, how to change the break pads on a car. We are so thankful for Google. 😊 All the experiences helped prepare us for new encounters. Now she is venturing out on her own. I will continue to pray for her, but I know that God can take much better care of her than I can, and His plan is better than mine.
So, change is coming, for all of us. We can embrace it or fight it. Fighting it will only add stress. I pray that whatever you are facing, whether it involves change or working through the same old things, God helps you to follow the path He has for you!
